She cruised through her pupillage within 9 months and became a legal assistant with a local law firm known for civil & criminal litigation work. 2 years later, she procured her experience in conveyancing, corporate, civil and banking litigation work until 1999. Then, the time was ripe to establish her own firm in the form of Messrs Esther Ong Tengku Saiful & Sree.
Today, her clientele includes local and international banks as well as large- and medium-sized developer’s housing projects where she oversaw all the loan contracts and general agreements. She is also well-versed with employment matters, intellectual property rights, and franchising. With her extensive experience in criminal litigation, she helped with drafting the new Contempt Proceedings Bill, which was later finalised by the Attorney General Chambers of Malaysia. She also helps small and medium industries (SMIs) with legal advisory services. She has assisted in the Legal Aid Bureau of Bar Council Malaysia, rendering legal help to the public.
Despite being in a highly demanding career, Esther remained kind and caring by volunteering with Malaysian Care, a local non-governmental organisation (NGO). Some of her other achievements include writing legal articles for international magazines and going on international speaking engagements in Singapore, Hong Kong, and many other countries.
An avid gardener, she believes that families can have a healthier and more nutritious meal by growing and harvesting their own crops. With that, she founded the Wholistic Family Association to promote holistic living. Another hobby of hers is to travel around the world. Her wanderlust has brought her to 18 countries including Czech Republic, Germany and Vatican City.
